Maynard Robison, Director of Insurance Research
Exploring the needs they serve, their distribution, and their products provides opportunities to look at all sorts of behaviors and social structures. Research on commercial insurance provides opportunities to learn about an amazing variety of businesses. At TRC, my main role is working with clients to clearly articulate the questions they need answered, helping them design research to answer those questions, and finally helping wrestle the data to the ground to produce real guidance. My colleagues at TRC provide extraordinary support in methodology and in executing projects, allowing me to focus on the areas where I can contribute the most. I have two grown children I would like to spend more time with; no grandchildren so far. Outside work, history, geography, and economics are abiding passions, expressed in reading many books and stopping to look at almost every historical marker or statue I pass. Our location in the Philadelphia area is wonderful for this, and occasionally I'm able to take a client on a tour of some of our historical sites. My market research path began at John Hancock Life Insurance, Prudential, and AFLAC, after which I began to work on the research supplier side. Most of my clients are in insurance and other financial services.
